”A Day in Frame” - Brighton- Contact Sheets- 25/01/25
Quick snapshots from Brighton
I finally managed to catch 1 hour good light and test the Instax Wide 400 camera in harsh lighting conditions.
Here are the results of one cartridge (10 frames) shot today.
For me, the beauty of instant photography lies in its uniqueness.
The inability to preview the result on a screen forces you to fully trust the process and creates a photograph that is always a surprise.
You never really know what the outcome will be, as many factors come into play — the optics, the film, the light. This creates a sense of co-authorship between you, the moment, and the tool.
I find this approach particularly fascinating in street photography with instant cameras. They leave room for spontaneity and unpredictability, unlike modern instant camera-printers.
Thank you for your time and for viewing!
